Gibson was a pioneer in the development of small body guitars in the beginning of the 1900s with its "L-Series Small Body" acoustics. These smaller Gibsons deliver a tonality that is best described in Gibson's 1934 catalog as a sound of "perfect balance." The L-00 Original, while achieving all the advantages of an acoustic that is comfortable to play in your home, still produces Gibson's rich full sound. The new L-00 Original features a classic white script Gibson logo, subtle antiquing on the top and back binding, and Golden Age nickel tuners.
The L-00 Original is now fitted with the all-new Gibson-exclusive Baggs™ HiFi DNA™ pickup system. This active design utilizes two lightweight sensors mounted to the internal bridge plate, each paired with its own optimized preamp. The result is a natural, full-bodied amplified tone that faithfully represents the guitar’s inherent character, without altering its unplugged voice. The Baggs HiFi DNA system offers comparable gain-before-feedback to an under-saddle pickup. Discreet soundhole-mounted controls for volume and tone allow quick, intuitive adjustments on the fly, remaining virtually unseen by the audience. With its refined electronics and included hardshell case, the L-00 Original is ready for both stage and studio use the moment it’s picked up.
